Frequently Asked Questions

WILL MY MAKEUP LAST? DO YOU OFFER TOUCH UP KITS?

Your makeup and hair artist will use products that will ensure your makeup is extremely durable and long lasting on your wedding day but everybody’s skin is very different so how well your makeup lasts can be dependent on that also. A skin care regime will be covered at the trial to ensure your skin is in the best condition, which will help this, and they will advise you on products that you may want to purchase to use on the day to ensure your makeup is still perfect for your evening guests.

I HAVE QUITE SENSITIVE SKIN, WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

Our artists use a variety of high quality, premium products which are suited to all skin types. At your trial your artist will discuss any problems or skin concerns and select products best suited to you.

I’M NOT SURE WHAT I WANT TO WEAR IN MY HAIR YET; DO I HAVE TO HAVE SOMETHING FOR TRIAL?

You don’t have to worry about having any accessories or head dresses/veils for the trial. Your artist will discuss this with you at the trial once you have decided on a style and advise you as to what will work and look best.

I DON’T HAVE ANY IDEAS AS TO HOW I WANT MY HAIR AND MAKEUP, WILL THIS BE A PROBLEM?

We always advise all brides to be to have some images available at the trial of makeup and hairstyles that they do and don’t like, to give your artist an idea of your likes and dislikes. If you are really unsure, your artist will advise you on styles that will suit you and work well with your hair, the style of your dress etc.

DO I HAVE TO HAVE A TRIAL AND WHEN IS BEST TO HAVE ONE?

We always highly recommend that each bride to be has a trial prior to the wedding day to ensure they are 100% happy with their chosen makeup and hairstyle. The trial is the time you will meet your artist and work together to establish your desired look, both with makeup and hair. Your artist will also work out from the trial what time they will need to arrive on the morning of the wedding and discuss other requirements for the day. We recommend that trials take place around 2-3 months prior to your wedding but you can have a trial as soon as you like.

HOW DO I MAKE PAYMENT?

The booking team will handle all your booking details and payments. You will be invoiced for the booking fee, the trial and the final balance. Payments can be made by making a bank transfer or a cheque can be posted out.

DO YOU CHARGE FOR TRAVEL?

Travel within a 20 mile round trip for the artists’ base is included, anything further than this is charged at 45p per mile. We will always endeavour to book an artist closest to you.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?

We cover Yorkshire, Manchester and the surrounding areas but we can cover all over the UK and we will travel abroad if requested.

WHAT IF MY ARTIST IS ILL AND CAN’T MAKE THE WEDDING DAY?

Each artist is 100% committed to being there on your wedding day, however if due to unforeseen circumstances they cannot be there we will always find another artist to cover. Each artist is advised to take pictures and make notes of the look and products used at the trial to keep a record of your chosen look.

HOW DO I SECURE MY BOOKING?

In order to secure your booking with an artist at Kiss the Bride, a non-refundable £50 booking fee is payable. This is deductible off the final balance.

CAN I HAVE A TRIAL BEFORE PAYING THE BOOKING FEE?

Yes you can have a trial prior to paying your booking fee, although we cannot secure dates with any artists until the booking fee has been paid so we strongly recommend having a trial as soon as possible to avoid the date being booked by somebody else.
